Don’t Buy This Book!!! Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything

Posted: November 3, 2010 in Uncategorized

Wow…what a disappointment.

I’ve been looking forward to reading Wikinomics  for weeks now. (Click on the Affiliate Link if you’re crazy).

I finally got around it and managed to cover all of first 3 chapters. I just couldn’t take anymore than that.

Usually a good book starts with a great bang. This one began with 2 chapters filled with fluff, buzz words and corporate speak.

It sounded like they were speaking to CxOs. Giving them new lingo to go with the new technology they could use to sound smart without actually understanding or internalizing the meaning of the words.

If you want to read a great book in a similar vein I recommend The Starfish and the Spider: The Unstoppable Power of Leaderless Organizations  (Amazon Affiliate Link)

Next on my list is Macrowikinomics: Rebooting Business and the World (Amazon Affiliate Link)

I’ll let you know how that one fares.

I’d be hard pressed to remember a book that sucked as bad as Wikinomics. I hope I’ve saved you the trouble.

What is the worst book you ever read? What sucked about it?
